Lindsay as Marilyn? Sorry, Lindsey, but it just doesn't work. Marylin looks better than you even when she's 36ish and about to die. Maybe what you really need is time away from the tanning booth? And, man. I won't even get into the flat hair. I'm really surprised the photo team let these out of the box like this.
(i usually like lindsay shoots, btw. that W spread a few years back was outstanding. i'm not saying this because i don't think she's got allure. this set is just so bad.)

Date: 2008-02-19 12:46 am (UTC)i agree with the above comment that she looks "desperate and uncomfortable". i *hope* this is just yet another sign that this whole celebrity nonsense era is self-destructing/coming to an end/whatever.
nevertheless, her boobs are nice.
it's very telling that all these young celebrities/actresses are constantly done up as some icon or another for so many photoshoots - there is really very little to them in the end. (plus these so called creative teams working at so many mags and such are just lame)
i actually don't mind LL - but remember when they put her on Interview as Liz? HAAAAAA, R I D I C U L O U S.

Date: 2008-02-19 06:44 pm (UTC)After working on several photo shoots when I did editorial stints in NYC, I'm just surprised that, with the whole team that works on photo jobs, this even happened. It's true that it DOES ring of amateur kitsch porn. But it doesn't look intentional, and it's not unintentional in a good way.
I do think it's interesting that the young girls are always dressed up as some old icon. Lindsay, in particular, seems desperate to want to be taken seriously as an ICON. I understand that she's really young and that all of us at some point in our past have gone great lengths to try too hard... but her people should have rallied around this one and made it way better.
