NYC, day in, day out, night in, night out

I just can't leave! The weather won't let me. I'm stuck in NYC for three more days.
Looking at your Seattle live journals this morning makes me a little mad. The snow is very very pretty, but just a dusting by most standards. I appreciate that this sort of weather is unusual in Seattle; I understand that there isn't much of a road clearing agenda going on. I understand how that can make even a dusting a real pain in everyone's commute.... But REALLY, Sea-tac? Really, Jet Blue? I can't get a flight there from NYC until late afternoon on Christmas eve?! I'm supposed to be on a flight NOW. This stinks. No Benson tree trimming party, no Benson Christmas day party (I can't have Christmas guests without some preliminary shopping/cooking). I'm hopping mad.
New Yorkers, I'm sad and bored. You might be hairy but happy. If you couldn't make it in to see me last week, text me to set up an appointment at Space for Monday or Tuesday! I'll cut your hairs, you'll cheer me up, it'll be awesome.
In the meantime, I'll be baking cookies uptown and practicing death in meditation (the focus at Jivamukti this month is nidra). Had I planned on these things, I'd be stoked. Guess I'll also practice taking things in stride and trying not to be too mad at a dusting of snow tying to kill my Christmas.

Date: 2008-12-22 12:28 am (UTC)the east coast and midwest may get hell of snow but they also don't have giant ass hills and no contingency plan for snow from public transportation.
blame the infrastructure if you like, but don't blame us for freaking out. it's really dangerous out there.
