The funny thing about pregnancy is that it makes time move trickily fast. In a moment, you're slow as molasses, working, napping, reading, and easing your way through the time. And then you look up into a mirror and realize that your belly is big, and that you'll be having a real live baby sooner, rather than later. I'm not sure what to call this phenomenon just yet. There must be someone who has talked about it more eloquently than I could.

I am going to Florida this weekend to see my 87 year old black haired grandmother. I'll bet she has a jolly story about how tricky time can be. I can't wait to hear it!

I finally took photographic evidence of how very different my belly looks before work and after:

If I pound water, I'm ok! If I don't, I need to take my wedding ring off.

I need to see day-over-day morning and night =) I think my stomach does this and I don't even have a baby to blame!

Oh, totally. It's just amazing how much of a difference it makes when it's a whole baby falling out of your hips... not just, y'know, flesh.

Yeah, like skamille said, part of it is normal compression and misalignment of the spine from standing upright for hours, which makes the butt and gut both stick out as the lumbar spine is shortened. It happens to everyone but definitely more dramatically when gravity has a whole pregnant belly to work with - and an actively growing baby is in it ;). Sleep and stretch give it a chance to lengthen out again.

Yeah, and this is WITH a stretchy pregnancy belt, too, which has been a tremendous help with my back.
