Today was, according to science, The Most Depressed Day Of The Year.

I fared well. The most depressing day of the year actually came a few days early for me, and I am happy to have the worst of '08 finished with so quickly.

How did you do?

I wore a nice argyle sweater to work and felt good about the way I looked... I went to the gym and rode the bike for an hour while listening to my favorite music!

I was very happy... I guess we have to balance out the people who were depressed....

yeah, my grandmother, grandfather and great-uncle and Joe's dad (who killed himself) all died on 1/23. This week definitely sucks. but those events have made me more aware of the depressive tendencies this time of year brings.

i have to say, coming home from sunny florida to freezing cold temps in boston was pretty depressing. but i was on xanax so i slept through most of it. i have to say though i did have some depressing thoughts about finances and starting school again. and i got kinda jealous of one of my friends who just randomly bought a new car this weekend (like it was nothing) and it really bummed me out... i should be excited for them and instead i was like "i wish i could do that..."

this time of year is really hard for people like waitresses because no one wants to dine out now the the holidays are over. it's lean times right now...

I actually really enjoy January, because it's when the light starts coming back. I'm very light-sensitive, and December is all sorts of bummer, for me, because it's so dark.

I worked during the day, had a really nice day actually. then the evening, between the beautiful january twilight, the GORGEOUS full moon, spending time by myself here in Marshfield, and eating tasty food, I was feeling pretty happy.

then once I decided to go to bed, I heard coyotes howling at the moon in the woods and my friend the great horned owl started hooting from the rooftop to her mate in the forest and back and forth and it was a wonderful lullaby.

:)

i am pretty antisocial in january but this year i am making an effort to go out more - especially this week knowing it is the saddest time of the year.

you just have to force yourself to get out there. makes you feel worlds better.

I didn't even notice.

Guess, I'm just happier this year overall, versus year ago, so no complaints. Light therapy helps. :)

Blue Monday? Oh, it was okay I think... I saw amanda and harry and alice... that was nice. Read lemony snicket. rode on trains. those things tend to cheer anyone up.
